Wearable device for erectile dysfunction

TechRing: the FirmTech ring that tracks

The TechRing is a $275 wearable device for erectile dysfunction that supports firmer, longer erections and measures them. FirmTech's homepage calls it "Smart tech for your manhood": built-in sensors record erection firmness, quality and duration during sex and track nighttime erections, and the FirmTech app shows it all.

What does the TechRing actually track?

The FirmTech TechRing tracks firmness and duration during sex, plus the count, strength and length of your nighttime erections. The app rolls these into one Erectile Fitness Score from 0 to 100 and lets you log sleep, drinks, workouts and medication to see what moves it. FirmTech says data is stored to HIPAA standards and never sold.

Overnight

Why wear an ED ring to bed?

FirmTech explains that healthy men have 3 to 5 erections a night during sleep. They happen without arousal, so they are a clean read of blood flow, and changes often show up there before you notice anything during sex. Penile arteries are smaller than the heart's, which is why researchers study erections as an early cardiovascular signal.

The TechRing is designed and studied for overnight wear and is rated for up to 12 hours. Wearing it once a week, FirmTech says, gives a clearer picture of your vascular and sexual health over time.

Who should choose a simpler ring instead?

Pick the TechRing if

  • You want numbers on firmness, duration and nighttime erections.
  • You want to see whether sleep, alcohol, exercise or medication change your results.
  • You may want to share data with your doctor (only if you choose to).
  • You value the 1-year warranty.

Pick a $60 ring if

  • You only want firmer, longer-lasting erections.
  • You do not want to charge, pair or open an app.
  • You want the tightest possible fit (MaxPR).
  • Budget matters more than data.

How we chose

This guide was written by FirmTech, which makes all three rings it compares. It is not an independent review and no outside audit or lab test was done for it. Every ring is judged on the same six criteria, using the same kind of fact for each: the product details FirmTech publishes on getfirmtech.com.

  1. Performance support (firmer, longer-lasting erections)
  2. Built-in tracking and app data
  3. Safe wear time
  4. Fit and tightness rating
  5. Price
  6. Warranty and care

The order ranks breadth of features, not quality for every buyer. A ring lower on the list can still be the right choice for your goal. Read the full methodology.

FAQ

Common questions

What does the TechRing track?

The TechRing measures erection firmness, quality and duration during sex, plus the count, strength and length of nighttime erections. The FirmTech app rolls this into an Erectile Fitness Score from 0 to 100 and lets you log sleep, drinks, workouts and medication to see what affects your results.

Why would I wear the TechRing overnight?

Nighttime erections happen without arousal, so FirmTech treats them as a clean read of blood flow. FirmTech notes that healthy men have 3 to 5 erections a night during sleep and that changes often show up there first. The TechRing is designed and studied for overnight wear of up to 12 hours.

Is it safe to sleep in an erection ring?

Only if the ring is designed for it. FirmTech says the TechRing is designed and studied for overnight wear of up to 12 hours, and lists a study on the safety of a smart constriction ring worn overnight, presented at AUA 2024. Do not sleep in a tight ring like the MaxPR, which is limited to 90 minutes.

How long does the TechRing battery last?

FirmTech lists up to 12 hours on a full charge. A full charge takes 2 to 4 hours with the included USB charger. After overnight wear, you hold the button for 3 seconds, put the ring on the charger and open the app to sync the night.

Is my TechRing data private?

FirmTech says TechRing data is stored securely, handled to HIPAA standards and never sold or shared with advertisers. You decide whether to share it with a doctor and can stop anytime. You can also delete your data and account from inside the app whenever you want.

Can I share TechRing data with my doctor?

Yes, if you choose to. The FirmTech app lets you decide who sees your data. FirmTech also runs a provider program in which partner clinics can, with patient permission, view firmness, duration and nighttime erections between visits.

What is a wearable device for erectile dysfunction?

A wearable ED device is something worn on the body to support or measure erections. FirmTech calls the TechRing the world’s first smart wearable for the penis: it works as an erection ring and uses built-in sensors to measure firmness, duration and nighttime erections, with results in an app for iPhone and Android.
